Golf Course #8- Salt Fork State Park Golf Course

    Alrighty for these blogs I will be talking about the golf courses in the surrounding area of New Concord Ohio! So first off there are probably eight golf courses that I would say are within a reasonable distance of New Concord to make it easy enough to visit all of them. The idea behind my blogs will be to talk about each golf course and help anyone reading these get a better understanding of what each course brings to the table.

    Salt Fork State Park Golf Course is another golf course between thirty and forty minutes from New Concord. This course offers a whole lot of challenges and difficult shots in a round of golf.

    This course is a very nice course, but it will make even some of the best golfers wonder if they should be golfing. This course has dozens of places to lose golf balls on every hole and takes no prisoners'. One shot hit offline and that's probably the end of it.

    The course starts out with some straight forward holes, and by straight forward I mean you just have to know going over certain trees are straight. Along with starting on one of the toughest greens the first few holes are not easy. After that there are some easy holes where you can aim down the fairway without having to worry about it too much. But then you'll end the front nine on a stretch of holes that aren't that bad besides the sloped greens.

    Going into the back nine starts with a par four over a large field of tall grass. It demands a good tee shot and following that is one of the best stretches of holes in my opinion. Holes eleven and twelve are both par fives. Very unique to see two par fives back to back along with a double dog leg par five. Yes I said a double dog leg. It is a confusing stretch of holes that only continue to get worse. More blind shots and narrower fairways await as the back nine finishes up and the scores get higher.

    Besides the course the clubhouse has a pro shop and a very nice little area that sells food. It is a great setup along with a putting green and range that brings that course together. All in all a very tough course that will challenge anyone who goes there, but for sure a must play for any avid golfers.
